About

I am a final-year PhD student at UCL, supervised by Prof. Kate E. Jones and Dr. Oisin Mac Aodha. My research focuses on advancing machine learning techniques for acoustic biodiversity monitoring. This includes developing novel methods to identify key acoustic signatures while addressing the challenges of limited and biased data.

After transitioning from a background in mathematics, I worked as a data scientist at the Mexican National Commission for Biodiversity (CONABIO). My contribution to a national acoustic biodiversity monitoring initiative sparked my interest in developing practical and reliable machine learning pipelines for large-scale biodiversity assessment.

Committed to open-source principles, I actively develop software tools to empower the audio analysis community. My current research centers on the robust and efficient identification of bat echolocation calls.
